A lot of the songs on Morning After were written as a direct reflection of where I am in my life and in my love life. I like to write from personal experience just so listeners can get a better understanding of who they're listening to. Songs like 'Cupcake' and 'Play Thing' talk about my refusal to settle down. 'Chill' and 'One More Time' talk more about my desire to settle down. The inspiration comes from my own internal back and forth conversation.
My first EP, Sorry About Last Night, asked more questions, while Morning After has a more definite feeling. I asked a lot of why questions in SALN; "why don't you love me?" "Why do you call me so late?" "Why aren't you mine?" Morning After answers with a firm "it doesn't matter." The song Everything says "I don't want that right now." It's that simple. MA is me finally starting to bounce back."
